“To-ji Temple looking East down Kujo Dori, Kyoto”
(Kyoto, Japan)
I wish I had more time to see Japan but reality limits allowed me one other city to visit besides Tokyo…and that city was Kyoto 京都, 京都市 because of it’s plethora of traditional temples.
After arriving in Japan after my time in Korea I headed directly to Kyoto from Narita Airport. I can confirm that Japanese trains are as cool and as fast as they say (video of my bullet train trip 1& 2 ).
In all during my stay in Kyoto I say 3 Temples, 1 palace, and one Fortress …all incredibly beautiful! It was however the last one that I saw; the To-ji Temple that I wanted to capture as a nearby crosswalk bridge offered a great duality view of old (temples) and new (modern street activity and buildings) Japan.
My visit to Kyoto and work on this piece followed my visit to Korea my visit to Tokyo and work on
- “Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul, South Korea”
- “Shibuya Station, Tokyo”
- and unfinished “Tsukiji fish market and Tokyo Tower from across the Sumida River”
