More on this piece:
Times Square is a place of awe. Once one becomes a New Yorker we tend to avoid it like the plague because of the crowdedness however it’s still nice to visit every now and again to rekindle that first visit and overload of lights flashing and advertisements.
This piece is a twin! See the other version at dusk “Times Square coming to Life at Sunset”
The oil painting portrays the Bertelsmann Building, the Empire State Building peaking into the scene, the Condé Nast Building (aka the H&M Building), 1500 Broadway, Times Square Tower, the Marriott Marquis, the TKTS stand, the Times Square Armed Forces Recruiting Station, countless Broadway billboards and advertisements, the U.S. and New York flags, the Times Square New Years Ball, and hundreds of (surprise) …tourists.
