“Time and change will surely show”
(Columbus, Ohio)
More on this piece:
I spent a little over four years in Columbus while attending Ohio State University. It’s a great city and every time I visit I feel at home.
OSU is such a large part of Columbus, and since I went there, I had to include its campus within. With some visual assistance from Google Earth on this one; I created the following sketch below to best capture the city & the School’s aura. The title comes as an excerpt from Ohio State’s alma mater Carmen Ohio
Oh! Come let’s sing Ohio’s praise, And songs to Alma Mater raise; While our hearts rebounding thrill,
With joy which death alone can still.
Summer’s heat or Winter’s cold. The seasons pass, the years will roll;
Time and change will surely show
How firm thy friendship O-hi-o.
The scene is of the city during a night game at Ohio Stadium. It includes: downtown Columbus, the campus, the ‘Shoe” during an evening game, the new cable bridge over the Olentangy River, and a Goodyear Blimp in the upper right to cover the game ; )
Donated to Ohio State when the very popular President Gordon Gee visited Dallas
