I went to Washington D.C. to enjoy the spring cherry blossoms with my girlfriend (at the time). It is truly a gorgeous time of year there but get up early in the morning to avoid the crowds!
I started painting this en plein air across the tidal basin. It includes the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorials as well of course countless cherry trees blossoming with hundreds of people enjoying it all.
