“Etelärannasta”
(Helsinki, Finland from Etalaranta Street)
Helsinki is the largest and Capital city of Finland. The city has remarkable old buildings and churches and is uniquely (and pleasantly I might add) without any skyscrapers. It’s South Harbor area is austere and serene in January but certainly not void of life nor friendly Finns.
The key elements captured were the Flag of Finland hanging from a store front, the Helsinki Cathedral, trolley and auto traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, the schooner Kathrina flying the flag of Aaland, the Uspenski Cathedral, and the Viking Line ferry to Stockholm.
